Philosophy 

At CRC North Keilor, learning and teaching are at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to creating engaging, supportive and high-quality learning experiences that enable every student to grow in their learning, in their sense of self, in their relationships with others and in their faith. 

We believe that teaching, learning, wellbeing and faith are deeply connected and cannot be separated. Our teachers are not simply teachers of subjects; we are all teachers of wellbeing. We care deeply about our students as whole people and work together as a community to ensure every learner feels known, valued, safe and supported. 

Strong relationships underpin successful learning. We value relational teaching and intentionally build positive teacher–student connections because we know students learn best when they feel a sense of belonging and trust. At CRCNK, students are not numbers- they are named, known and cared for. As a small school community, we take the time to understand each student’s strengths, challenges, interests and aspirations so we can support them to become the best version of themselves. 

We believe effective learning occurs in calm, predictable and inclusive classrooms where expectations are clear, routines are consistent and students are empowered to challenges themselves in their learning. Our shared teaching practices support both academic growth and student wellbeing, with a strong emphasis on connection before correction, high expectations and restorative relationships. 

We recognise that every student learns differently and that success looks different for every learner. Through targeted support, differentiated learning, extension opportunities and personalised pathways, we ensure all students are both challenged and supported to achieve growth and success. We are committed to helping students discover their passions, develop confidence and find purpose in their learning and in life. 

At CRCNK, learning is a partnership between school, family and community. Through strong communication, ongoing feedback and collaboration with families, we work together to support each student’s individual journey. Guided by our vision to help every learner become who God calls them to be, we strive to develop young people who are compassionate, resilient, curious and prepared to make a positive contribution to the world beyond the classroom.
